Actually, to gain free web hosting (for, sites, cams, networking etc..) is simply a matter of configuring few #Thingy on your home or business network. Your network usually come equipped with all necessary software.. Although 2 - 3 will be needed from the web!

DAMP is my choice since it's 4 in-one, a Drupal core base, Apache server, MySQL database, and PHP for languages (codes).

Your computer will have an online connection with router.. And connectivity from the outside through your ISP (Internet Service Provider). Now you will need to connect the PC with the DAMP which is now inside, to the internet through your machine (PC).. I use a DUC (Dynamic UI Changer) it is a piece of software that will actively keep your configurations intact since most ISP like to change it frequently..

The connection itself is setting up your DAMP (which is now your PC) to your ISP through the router. Once the configuration is set the DUC keeps it place automatically your UI to keep you live.

After, I placed few web cams.. (privately not interfering from outside world) So I placed a VNC (Virtual Network Connector) which now allows me to view all my house through the web cams set inside my home, pretty cool feature (hosting companies don't give this..)

Conclusion, using this method I will save me $1980.00 every year, I now can view online my website, home web cams, free from hosting fees for ever!, created a networking environment (to view web cams or access hour home computer away from home, and I can write off the whole set-up as a TAX Deductible 100%. A definite Win, Win, Win, Win situation..
